JAY DALY'S NEW ENGLAND BRASS
Jay founded the New England Brass 40 years ago. Made up from Boston's top musicians, the ensemble continues gaining audience kudos and critical approval whenever it performs.
Featuring a well-rounded classical repertory melded with contemporary, pop and iconic American songs, the New England Brass delights audiences of all ages. The ensemble's many facets and technical prowess will engage those with deep musical understanding, casual listeners, and anyone who enjoys fine music played well.
Sure to please, this top-notch professional ensemble is ranked among the best in the nation. Available for performances in the theater and concert hall, outdoor venues, residencies or visits in schools, and private engagements.
S' Wonderful: The Music of George Gershwin, a celebration of America's iconic composer of popular and theatrical song. Includes a full performance of Rhapsody in Blue. The program is presented in two sets spanning some two hours with a seven-piece orchestra. The musicianship is superb (along with the music itself.) In addition to the title tune audiences will enjoy other most-loved Gershwin compositions like "Lady Be Good," “They Can’t Take That Away From Me,” “Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off,” “Our Love Is Here to Stay,” “Nice Work If You Can Get It,” and the enduring favorite “Summertime,” from “Porgy and Bess.”
OTHERS HAVE SAID ...
"Jay, I can’t thank you enough for bringing "New England Brass Plays Gershwin" to
the Standing Room Only series. You’re a star, the players were magnificent --
each one more suave, entertaining and virtuosic than the next, and the whole
thing was a miracle. People could barely stay in their seats. Just terrific...
